Eight prompts
At the core of Dare to Write? are simple ways to help you discover, enjoy and continue writing. The prompts can be explored at your own pace and in your own way, over an hour, a day, a week or a lifetime. You can repeat them as many times as you want, or turn them into longer activities and programmes.

Want to work with a parent, guardian or friend? No problem! Adults can join in the fun, too. All they need to do is read the introduction and explore the activities on the Starter Sheet page. Adults can also register on our mailing list for news, support and tips.
Just Write
Workshops
The Dare to Write? Library doesn't just exist online. It's also a portable library delivering zine-making workshops across the UK. Using our ethos of child-led exploration, participants create their own book!

Resources
Across the Library are resources for adults who are helping young people explore writing. You’ll find downloadable resources and mini-articles to inspire both you and young writers as you complete the activities together, written by award-winning authors such as David Almond and Stella Tarakson.
