Write for Fun
A notebook is a repository for ideas and inspirations. It isn’t a place for grammar, structure, perfect spelling or well-polished sentences. Encourage writers to create freely, without restriction, to write down their daily observations, dreams or fears. The writer may wish to invent worlds, talking animals, heroes or villains. They can explore writing their story through illustrations or doodles or in mirror writing. What’s important is that the freedom to create is nurtured and the spirit of fun is captured. No rules, just write.
Allow the writer to keep their notebook a personal, private space, to share its contents only if they wish. The goal is to make writing for fun and reading for pleasure an escape and a reward, not a chore.
