Shape your Writing

As the writer progresses they may take a rough idea and begin shaping it into something more polished by completing a short story, a script, a play, song or book. They may wish to continue to follow their own instinct, shaping the work as feels best to them, or they may wish to have more dedicated guidance. There are many options here.

There is a wealth of information on the internet, much of it written by published authors and professional writers on the craft of writing. There are also countless books that delve into the craft of writing novels, screenplays and music, many of which are available in the library or a bookstore. Let the young writer explore this information and find out what works for them. Give the writer space if they want to shape and experiment with their writing on their own.
