Young Writers Group

Once a month, we get together to write stories, plays and poems. Do you like drama and performing? Do you want to write a play, create a game or work on a comedy routine? Are you aged between 12 and 16? Then, join us. We are three young professional writers and performers and we meet once a month to run writing workshops. You can be a total beginner or William Shakespeare – all welcome here! The Writers’ Block is the perfect place for creating wonderful words, it’s got bean-bags, writing desks and comfy chairs. Come along by yourself or with friends and meet new young writers. You are the next generation of creative writers – take your first step with us.

Each session will be led by writers and performers Casey Bee and Olivia Lowry. Although they will cover many aspects of creative writing, from stories to poetry, the overall focus will be on writing for performance.

We are creating a network of young writers to feed off one another, get their visions into words and hook into Cornwall’s rich cultural life.
