Explore Worlds - A notebook (or voice recorder or notes app) is a useful tool for observing, being inspired by and documenting the world. Explore a part of the real world, such as a forest. Carry your notebook with you in your daily life. Write what you see, and turn your writing into new adventures on the page.

Just Write - Imagine, scribble, write. Jot down ideas, inspirations, dreams and fears. Nothing is too mundane or bizarre. Whatever creeps into your head, write it down and see where it takes you.

Follow your interests - Take time to think about your writing journey so far. What have you discovered? What do you like or dislike? What do you want to do next?

Keep Writing - Writing often doesn’t come out perfectly the first time. This is your opportunity to change something you didn’t like about a piece of writing or to continue with a part you loved. It’s normal to get stuck. Create rituals that keep you writing.

Transform Writing - As the writing starts to take shape, reflect on the purpose of the project. Who is the writing for? Is this a fun, private experiment or something to craft and share? Can the piece be transformed into another medium or format? When a project is finished, you may wish to consider publishing. Take your time and only share when you are ready.

Celebrate - Congratulate and reward yourself for taking another step in your writing journey, and reflect on what you are most proud of.
